The castle of the Dukes of Savoy is located Chambéry, in Savoie.
It was built in the eleventh century, and repeatedly expanded and redesigned.
Since 1860, the year the Savoy meeting in France, it houses the Prefecture and the County Council. Until then, he was both residence of the counts and dukes of Savoy and headquarters of different administrative entities.
The building has the shape of a quadrilateral with a square keep come off itself with towers and a chapel.
In medieval wing, the different rooms of the former Chamber of Accounts house a permanent exhibition tracing the history of the castle, historical monument since the nineteenth century. This place is in free access all year.

One can discover on this occasion, also the Accounting Chamber, the courtyard, or the Tower Treasury: it dates from the thirteenth century and has a polygonal shape and is equipped with defensive elements. Stakes also the circuit, the Sainte-Chapelle, built in the fifteenth to replace the original chapel became cramped. Its single nave is extended by a five-sided apse. Its decor reports to the Gothic style. Note that the head is supported by a curtain, and is adjacent to a walkway with battlements and battlements restored in 1895. The facade of the Sainte Chapelle was redesigned in 1641, now with classic décor. From 1502 to 1578, the famous Shroud now preserved in Turin was housed in this chapel.
