Located at Chalon-sur-Saône, the Nicéphore Niépce museum is dedicated to the history of photography, from its invention by Niépce to the digital image. On site, visitors can discover the most prestigious photographic fund in Europe, with collections bringing together three million images and more than 10,000 cameras and objects, like the Discovery Room, the first camera in world created by Nicéphore Niépce.
Founded in 1972, the Nicéphore Niépce museum, now labeled Museum of France, also regularly offers temporary exhibitions of old and contemporary photographers.
