Charming little town in the Indre, in the Centre-Val-de-Loire region, Chaillac takes place in the natural region of Boischaut Sud, on the edge of Haute-Vienne. It is located not far from Lignac, Roussines or Sacierges-Saint-Martin, about sixty kilometers from Châteauroux.
Old, the town was particularly famous in the Middle Ages thanks to the viscounts of Brosse. But it is its barite and fluorite deposit, the largest in the world, that made it famous.
The 100 km of paths accessible on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback will delight visitors who come to enjoy a unique natural setting in the heart of the Berry landscapes.
