Things to see and do

Built in the 12th century, the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Ceilhes is an important Romanesque building fortified during the 14th century. Inscribed in the Historic Monuments, it was almost entirely realized in sandstone and stone. Inside you can admire beautiful Romanesque capitals, as well as stained glass windows, including those of the axial bay dating from the fourteenth century. The latter represent Christ and the patron saint of the city, St. John the Baptist. Do not miss to discover the chapel Notre-Dame de la Pitie, or the church of Rocozels, a former chapel of the medieval castle. In Romanesque style, it reveals a porch of the twelfth century and has been classified as Historic Monuments.

The ramparts of Ceilhes-et-Rocozels were built between the 13th and the 14th century. You can still see the door of the wall, as well as most of the original wall which includes the church of St. John the Baptist.

The Ferme du Bâtiment is listed as a heritage site in France and is all that remains of the medieval castle of the town. Built in the late Middle Ages, this former sheepfold also has a cheese cellar.

As you walk through Ceilhes-et-Rocozels, you can be seduced by the 15th-century grain hall or the Romanesque bridge of the 14th century. The fountain of Griffoul is not lacking interest, as is the Taoutas, a small artificial lake.
