Castanet-Tolosan is a commune in the Haute-Garonne, which takes place in the urban area of Toulouse, on the Canal du Midi. This town of nearly 12 000 is installed in the Lauragais doors, a dozen kilometers from the Pink City.
City Castanet-Tolosan take its name from the Latin castanea, meaning chestnut. Indeed, once the chestnut trees were everywhere on the hillsides. Very old, the town was inhabited since Roman times to monitor Narbonne path and the Pyrenees.
