L-Birds Back to Normandy 80e

- From June 6 to 8,2024, the L-Birds back to Normandy association is organizing a gathering of liaison aircraft, known as L-Birds (L for Liaison). - This 2024 operation benefits from the experience of previous years, both in terms of organization and operations. - Some forty liaison aircraft, all authentic and in their historic 1939-45 colors, will fly to Normandy from several French regions and European countries. - June 6 : Aircraft gather at Saint-André-de-l'Eure airfield, formerly a Luftwaffe base, then a British base. - June 7 and 8 : Commemorative flights from Caen airport, along the D-Day landing beaches. - Static exhibition in Caen on June 7 and 8, currently under feasibility study (until February 8,2024). - June 9 : Departure of last aircraft.
