Located at the entrance to the bay of Morlaix, in the town of Carantec, in Finistère, the Île Louët lighthouse was built in the second half of the 19th century. Installed not far from the Château du Taureau, on a rocky peak, it takes the form of a large white square tower with a black top.
Leaning against the gable end of a house, it was automated in the early 1960s and has not been guarded since that time. The former keepers' house, owned by the municipality of Carantec, is available for rent for short stays, the opportunity to be as close as possible to this extraordinary natural setting with the islets of the neighboring ornithological reserve.
