House of the Rey

Monument in Capbreton

The House of the Rey is a monument in the municipality of Capbreton (Landes, New-Aquitaine). It is an attraction for holidaymakers staying in the region.

At the corner of Rue Jean Lartigaus and the Priory Street, this beautifully restored medieval house sheltered in 1583 the future King Henri IV, then King ("rey") of Navarre. It hosted the Jurat and Bertrand ship master Ponteils.
