The Saint-Fiacre tower, also called the Tour des Sottes because of its proximity to a women's asylum in the 19th century, is one of the rare remains of the old enclosure of Cambrai, in the North. The latter, four kilometers long, was originally flanked by fifty towers fifteen meters high.
Built in the 14th century, the tower has retained its Cambrésis stone structure up to the base of the terrace, while its sandstone base is now buried. At the top, a corbelled device recalls the presence of latrines on this floor at the time of construction.
