Listed as Historic Monuments, the remains of the Val-Chrétien abbey take place in the town of Bruyères-sur-Fère, in Aisne. Founded in the 12th century by Raoul de Cramaille and his wife, it experienced many torments during the Hundred Years War, notably seeing itself burned and emptied by the English.
Dismantled during the Revolution, the abbey of Val-Chrétien was then transformed into a farm before being gradually abandoned.
