On the road from Bourges to Saint-Amand-Montrond, you can not miss the terminal of the France center that stands in the middle of the village. This terminal dating from the Gallo-Roman sarcophagus was recycled in the Middle Ages before finding a geographic use in 1797. It still has the Latin inscriptions relating the distances between Bruère-Allichamps Bourges, Châteaumeillant and Néris-les-Bains.

Things to see and do

The Middle Ages left two remarkable religious buildings: the Cistercian abbey of Noirlac, founded in 1136, and St. Stephen's Priory testimony of an important station on the Roman road Avaricum in Néris-les-Bains, called priory Allichamps. His church, listed on the supplementary inventory of historical monuments in 1926, became municipal property in 1986. Object of all catering services, conservation and running of the Friends of the Priory since then, the book is today ' hui protected as historic monuments.

The Cistercian abbey of Noirlac, located on the Cher in a preserved environment, place almost nine centuries of rich history and often tormented. It now in a perfectly restored monument, visitors to discover its light architecture.

Cultural Encounter Center since 2007, Abbey Noirlac offers several artistic events throughout the year.

On the hiking trail Meillant-Tronçais who share Meillant connects Celle, Bruere, Noirlac, Lake Virlay, through Saint-Amand-Montrond, take the path round Montrond, Drevant, the bridge of the Tranchasse the Colombiers village, then Coust, Charenton-du-Cher to finally reach Saint-Bonnet-Tronçais in the Allier.

Either a course of 55 kilometers could be done on foot, by bike, but also on some sections, on horseback.
