Geography:
Briosne-lès-Sables is a commune of the Sarthe belonging to the Community of Communes Maine 301.
History:
Originally there were two villages, and Briosne Sands. The two municipalities merged in 1965.
The name comes from the Greek Briosne "embryo" which means "foam", the soil would have given his name to Sands.
The path Mansais present on the territory of Briosne suggests that the origin of the Gallo-Roman village.
The hamlet of Sands was immortalized in the literary masterpiece Catherine Paysan "The Negro of Sands".
