Brem-sur-Mer holds numerous remains of a rich past. Association of former municipalities of Saint-Martin de Brem and Saint Nicolas de Brem, Brem-sur-Mer originated from a distant past. The Brem Romanesque St. Nicolas church founded in the eleventh century is one of the finest medieval monuments of the department. As you walk, you will also see the menhir of Crulière, historic monument in 1934, also called "The Devil's Stone."
Brem-sur-Mer is today a renowned wine center who got in 1984 the name VDQS (Delimited Wines of Superior Quality), and in spring 2011 the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC). Do not hesitate to go to meet producers in the cellars of the country!
