Bourg du Gard, located in Occitanie region, Branoux-les-Taillades takes place at the limit of the department of Lozere, about fifteen kilometers from Ales. It is located at the foot of the Col de la Baraque, in the Gardon valley.
Populated since the prehistory, the territory of Branoux-les-Taillades developed in the Middle Ages, including the construction of a chapel in the hamlet of Blannaves in the middle of the eleventh century. Strongly affected by the Camisard war in the late seventeenth century, the town was largely destroyed in the early eighteenth century by camisards. From the nineteenth century, it is illustrated by its production of chestnuts before giving up the activity in the course of the Second World War.
Always very dynamic, the city of Branoux-les-Taillades still presents an important leisure activity, and offers its visitors an interesting architectural and historical heritage in a charming setting.
