Bourg-Achard celebrates its famous "Fair to Bourrette" every 3rd Sunday of September. In the 14th century, its inception, the show at the Bourrette was one of the most famous of the region. Today it remains, even if some are unhappy about the fairs of yesteryear with the cattle market, chickens on a spit, blouses and clogs which they bought for the children back to school, an unmissable event. To date, entitled "Fair to Bourrette" It was formerly known as "Fair St. Matthew". Indeed, this fair was held on the day of the autumnal equinox and lasted two days on 21 and 22 September. In the 17th century, this show was of such importance that a third day was added. In the next century, it was shortened to two days 20 and 21 September. One may wonder about the curious name of "Fair to Bourrette", two versions are given to explain it.
