Famous since Antiquity for the benefits of its thermal water, the pleasant resort of Bourbonne-les-Bains, located in Haute-Marne at the edge of the Vosges and Upper Saône, is the only thermal resort in the Champagne-Ardenne region.
Springing from the ground at a temperature of 66 °C, the water of Bourbonne-les-Bains is rich in oligo-elements and mineral salts, and is famed for its healing properties, especially in the treatment of rheumatism, osteoarthritis and disorders of the respiratory tract. As well as its medical treatments, the resort's spa also offers well-being and fitness treatments.
Bourbonne-les-Bains also offers plenty of green spaces, with the Spa Park and its Gallo-Roman remains; the Castle Park, adorned with flowerbeds and hundred-year-old trees; Montmorency Arboretum, a botanical park made up of around 250 different tree species; and La Bannie Animal Park, inhabited by stags, does, fallow deer, boar, rabbits, peacocks, goats and birds...
When it comes to culture, the municipal museum based in the outbuildings of the old castle has exhibitions of Gallo-Roman archaeological remains (ex-votos, funerary steles, coins...), paintings by local artists from the 19th and 20th centuries, and a collection of naturalised birds from the 19th century.
