Mentioned for the first time in the 9th century Boudes developed in a widening of the Couzillou valley, protected from the weather by the peak of the Avoiron in the West, Villeneuve lime in the North. The only " difference " is the village of Bard.
The medieval profoundly affected the organization of habitat Boudes which explains the current narrow lanes and built density. During the Hundred Years War, a protective enclosure has " corseted " the primitive core organized around the Saint-Loup church dating from the 12th century listed building. This feature allows to classify Boudes in strong village group.
