Abbey a former Benedictine monastery of the sixth century, the Holy Cross Abbey sits in the heart of Bordeaux in the department of Gironde. Ranked historic monument, this Romanesque building built between the late eleventh century and the beginning of the twelfth was first rehabilitated hospice before welcoming in the late nineteenth century the School of Fine Arts Bordeaux.
Inspired by the Saintonge Romanesque, Holy Cross Abbey reveals beautiful old elements like the bell tower of the twelfth century, the eleventh of the porch or just left the steeple added in the nineteenth century.
Inside, you can admire an organ of the mid-eighteenth century that has been fully restored to the same in the second half of the twentieth century.
