City of Seine-Saint-Denis, Bondy takes place in the Seine-Saint-Denis department, just a few kilometers from Paris. Limitrophe of Aulnay-sous-Bois, Le Blanc-Mesnil or Rosny-sous-Bois, it enjoys excellent coverage in terms of public transport.
Formerly covered by the forest of the same name, the municipality of Bondy experienced an important rise during the 20th century. Formerly a village named Bonisiaca in the 7th century, the Ile-de-France was the property of the abbey of Saint-Martin-des-Champs in the 11th century. Today, an important city in the Paris region, Bondy is best known for its proximity to the capital, as well as for its many cultural and sporting activities.
Ancient, the city of Bondy uncovered during excavations some beautiful Merovingian vestiges testifying its importance over the centuries.
Resolutely modern, with an important development since the 1960s, the city of Bondy has no ancient monuments or other tourist sites to visit. There are, however, many cultural infrastructures, including the Choir of Singing Schoolchildren known nationally.
Rewarded with two flowers in the competition of towns and villages in bloom, Bondy also presents some beautiful green spaces for a bucolic break in the city.
Several weekly markets take place at Bondy: Tuesday and Thursday morning Suzanne Buisson Avenue, Wednesday morning, Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning Place de la République, Thursday morning Nicole Place Neuburger, as well as the market of Bondy, Every day of the week, in the morning, except Monday. A Christmas market is also taking place in December.
In June, the festival of sustainable development is an opportunity to attend conferences and other awareness-raising events, while enjoying the many activities.
In summer, Bondy Plage is the theater of various fun infrastructures, as well as free shows of all kinds.
Comic book festival, the BD-Moto of Bondy is organized in October.
Every Saturday from October to December, the city offers its Museums, with free visits organized in eight museums of the Île-de-France: the Panthéon, the Ecouen museum, the Louvre museum, the Musée d'Orsay, The Palais de Tokyo, the Saint-Denis Basilica, the Grand Palais, and the Palais de la Découverte.
