Blendecques

Founded at the end of the 12th century, the Sainte-Colombe abbey still reveals some vestiges. You will be able to discover the entrance building, a portal opening onto the old abbey palace or even a monumental staircase and the remains of farm buildings listed as Historical Monuments. Built in the second half of the 19th century, the Sainte-Colombe church is a fine example of neo-Romanesque style to discover not far away.

Of the water mills which made the reputation of Blendecques, there are still some vestiges on the Aa, like the old Galamez-Joly mill. Old lime kilns are also visible on the territory of the town, especially near the Hermitage paper mill.

The weekly market is held every Thursday morning.

The Birds and Nature festival offers its activities during the month of February.

Mid-July, make way for the ducasse of Blendecques and its many events.

A fireworks display is organized in mid-July to celebrate the national holiday.

The park festival is held each year at the beginning of September in the town hall park known for its hundred-year-old trees.
