Common French new, Blaison-Saint-Sulpice was born on January 1, 2016 of the merger of Blaison-Gohier and Saint-Sulpice. It is located in the heart of Maine-et-Loire, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Center-Val de Loire. About twenty kilometers away, the tourist sites of Angers open their doors as well as the charming town of Ponts-de-Cé.
Populated since Prehistory, the territory of Blaison-Saint-Sulpice develops in small village from the ninth century. The construction of a castle in Blaison-Gohier, in the eleventh century, offers a new stature to the municipality. Long time turned towards agriculture and viticulture, it gradually became, in the twentieth century, a tourist commune and appreciated by visiting visitors.
Even today, it is possible to discover on this new town of the vestiges of a rich and interesting past.
