Medieval Benedictine abbey and former priory of Fontfroide, the abbey Notre-Dame de Gaussan welcomes again since 1994 a monastic life thanks to the presence of monks straight from the abbey Notre-Dame de Fontgombault, in Indre. Gregorian chants are offered every day during the Mass and various services.

While strolling in the commune, do not miss to admire the church Saint-Pierre-with-Links of the eighteenth century, or even the fountain of the church. The latter flows at all times of the year, its water from the Naissant.

The Loumet wood and the Viscount wood allow everyone to enjoy the local flora and fauna, and enjoy several outdoor activities.

A neo-Gothic fortress-like construction, Gaussan Castle was for a long time the pride of a bourgeois family in the region. Inspired by the works of Viollet-le-Duc and Romanticism, he hosted for a time a community of monks. Listed historical monument, it was also a large vineyard.

Also listed as an historic monument, the castle of Saint-Martin de Toques dates from the twelfth century (private castle).

A clothes exchange is offered in March.

In March, also place at the communal feast with its friendly meal, entertainment for the youngest, its carnival or its concerts.
