Mentioned from the 10th century, the village in 1050 two fiefs and Brassalay Monpoey (now called "Maupoey").

10th and 11th centuries, the parish Biron depends Abbey Sorde in the Landes. The village was then the seat of fierce fighting between the viscounts of Béarn and those of Dax, both eager to grant orthézien sector, which was the spearhead Biron. After struggles mercilessly Biron finally became possession béarnaise.

Domaine de Brassalay Children's Home has a social nature, and the Domaine de Maupoey, fortified house in Gaston Phoebus, is now a place of tourist accommodation.

Things to see and do

Castle Brassalay: a typical example of architecture that was in the 16th century. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the valley Maslacq, it is the pride of the village architecture. His dungeon and a polygonal tower remain relatively well preserved.

Between Orthez and Biron, Lake Biron offers a range of activities, sandy beach, water sports, walking tour, water skiing, pedal boats, canoeing, picnic area and restaurant.

Lake Barthes fishing center consists of three bodies of water.

Saligue to the Birds is a natural wetland that houses a large number of varieties of waterfowl. Until 2010, this bird park was open to the public. It is now maintained and occupied by the Departmental Federation of Hunters who organizes the events of a hunting license.
