Beuvry-la-Forêt is located in the Nord department, in the Hauts-de-France region. Until August 1969, the town was called Beuvry-lez-Orchies. Beuvry-la-forêt is a town in the Pays de Pévèle, located near Orchies, located on the remains of the old forest arc, considered by some to be a relic of the ancient coal forest. As its name suggests, the town is partly still enforested.
The town is cut in two by the passage of the A23 motorway which connects Lille to Valenciennes, the two parts are: Beuvry-Bourg and Beuvry-Varlet.
Its inhabitants are called "Beuvrygeois".
Beuvry-la-Forêt is not to be confused with Beuvry, in Pas-de-Calais.
