Located in the heart of the Boucle district, in the city center of Besançon, the Saint-Pierre church now benefits from a classification as an historic monument. Originally founded in the 4th century and rebuilt in the second half of the 19th century to plans by Claude-Joseph-Alexandre Bertrand, it impresses with the large height of its bell tower which serves as a belfry for the town hall.
Restored in the 1950s, the building still has Louis XIV style stained glass windows dating from this period.
Inside, visitors will be able to admire beautiful, well-preserved works of art such as the Pietà by Luc Breton, woodwork or an original Stations of the Cross.
