The common Berrias-et-Casteljau, born from the association of two communities, occupies a special position in the South Ardeche. At the mouth of the gorges of Chassezac, the main hamlets and the village are located on the edge of a vast fertile agricultural plain that occupies just under half the total communal area. It is drained by the Granzon, a tributary of Chassezac. Agricultural activity is mainly oriented towards the vines, grains and seeds. Crossing the major road south of the Ardèche, the county 104, Berrias-et-Casteljau has the characteristics of a rural town with a perennial agriculture.
