The Abbey of Bellefontaine: Founded in 1100, in the diocese of Poitiers, Bellefontaine depended then the diocese of La Rochelle in 1648 and Angers in 1802. Various monks followed one another: Benedictine, Cistercian and Trappist Feuillants. The monastery possessed a church recognized as one of the most beautiful of Anjou, and he was surrounded by fortifications which there are some foothills. 11th century, you can see today that the entrance portico as having been destroyed at the Revolution, the monastery was rebuilt in 1817. The church of the abbey, Romanesque and Gothic influence, was built in 1879 by architect Tessier. It houses the effigies of the Prince and Princess of La Roche sur Yon. The abbey is known for its homemade fruit jellies.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Good Help: Before the Revolution, the chapel was an important place of pilgrimage for the people of Mauges who believes in the virtues of the source. It is forbidden to refractory priests during the revolutionary period. Looted and burned during this period, it was rebuilt in 1832. Open to the public.
