Many caves (Ointments), excavated in the village and the hill, gave their name to the city: Beaumes de Venise (Comtat Venaissin) later became Beaumes-de-Venise. 1 km to the west, Our Lady of Aubune whose bell tower, historical monument, a jewel of Romanesque art from the 12th century, inspired the Doms Cathedral, adjacent to the Palais des Papes in Avignon. Located just above the chapel, the Devil's Stone, surrounded by a curious legend. On the hill to the north, the prehistoric caves Ambrosi, early Christian necropolis, ruins of the chapel of St Hilaire 6th century and the old castle Castellas. A 1 km east rock and cave with prehistoric Rocalinaud Eyguières.
