Beaufay is a town situated in the Sarthe (Region Pays de la Loire). The city of the canton of Beaufay ball in the borough of Le Mans and the Community of Communes Maine 301. The people of Beaufay called Belfaidiens and Belfaidiennes and numbered 1286 to 2004 census (1103 population census of 1999).
The town is named after the Latin "bellus fagus", meaning "the beautiful beech."
Its territory was already inhabited during the Roman period. It was crossed by a Roman road, the path Mansi, linking Le Mans in Evreux. It even found a treasure in 1875 than 8000 coins from the 3rd century!
The town received a second flower in the regional competition of cities and villages in bloom in 2008.
