Beauchamp

Tourism, holidays & weekends guide in the Val-d'Oise

City of Val-d'Oise, in Île-de-France, Beauchamp takes place about fifteen kilometers from Cergy, in the heart of the Montmorency valley. It is located about twenty kilometers from Paris and its tourist monuments, not far from Herblay-sur-Seine, Taverny and Saint-Leu-la-Forêt.

Populated since Celtic times, the territory of Beauchamp began to develop around Caesar's Camp, many remains of which have been found during archaeological excavations. Created only in 1922 from one end of the territory of Taverny, the town experienced a real boom with the arrival of the railway which linked it to Paris and its economic activities.

Things to see and do

Originally a small chapel, the Notre-Dame church was inaugurated at the very beginning of the 20th century. Enlarged in the 1950s, it has undergone many transformations over the years, such as the addition of new stained glass windows in the 2000s.

Not far away, do not miss to admire the Calvary with its statues of the Virgin and of Saint John. Initially intended for the decoration of the church, they were buried and forgotten there until their rediscovery in the 1950s.
