Built in the second half of the 19th century, the Villa La Sapinière immediately seduces with its charming porch with Doric columns. Built at Barcelonnette, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, since the end of the 1980s it has housed the La Vallée museum, labeled Musée de France, which traces the routes of Italian merchant-hawkers who set out to conquer Europe. and who settled in the valley of the Ubaye, but also the history of the People of the Ubaye, a community established in the Americas from the 19th to the 20th century or that of painters traveling in the East.
On site, visitors will be able to admire the varied collections combining history, archeology, ethnography and fine arts. All the countries of the world are represented here, from Mexico to Japan, including Burma, China, the United States and India. You can also discover stuffed birds, samurai armor, statues and chimeras.
