Balaruc-le-Vieux

The village of Balaruc-le-Vieux circulade and architecture make it a popular place for visitors wanting to discover the history and traditions of the Languedoc.

Walking through the medieval streets that may especially admire the remains of ancient walls and several monuments of all kinds. We appreciate the beautiful doors Louis XIII, the remains of the castle built in the Middle Ages or the beautiful Saint-Maurice church. Built in the fourteenth century, it has a Romanesque and Gothic style.

Also visit the place of Turkish overlooking the beautiful cove of Angle.

Four natural areas of ecological interest, flora and fauna occupy the town Balaruc-le-Vieux. Time for outdoor activities or hiking, it is possible to admire the mount of Gardiole, the laguno Paludo-dune-of Bagnas Thau and complex, the Thau lagoon, or the swamp of the Angle creek.

The market takes place every Tuesday and Friday morning.

In July, the city of Balaruc-le-Vieux puts on its finery to present its medieval festival. For the occasion, you can see costumed parades, entertainment of all kinds, as well as a beautiful fireworks display to close the event.
