The Museum of the Pays de Luchon, Bagnères-de-Luchon, in Haute-Garonne, is housed since 1926 in the Lafont castle, built in 1772 by Baron de Labarthe Neste. The building that borders the driveway Etigny is also home to the Tourist Office.
The fund consists of establishing the origin of the Pyrenees relief map due to the surveyor Lézat Toussaint (1804-1884) and the archaeological collections of local Learned Society. After the Second War, is added an ethnographic collection with tools and ancient objects related to Popular Arts and Traditions of the region (the High Valleys of Comminges).
There are also days of our lithographs, drawings, prints and posters of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and a collection related to natural history (flora, fauna and minerals Pyrenees). Finally, labeled Museum of France, the establishment presents paintings and sculptures by local artists and whose works are in resonance with it.
The museum of the Pays de Luchon program regularly workshops for children, conferences and temporary exhibitions.
