Azet

Built at the end of the 12th century, the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church today benefits from an inscription in the Historic Monuments. Mainly in Romanesque style, it was until the French Revolution the seat of an archpriest. Divided into three aisles, it notably has a broken barrel nave extended by a semi-circular vaulted apse as well as a bell tower raised by one floor in the 19th century. Inside, you can admire a high altar with a 17th century tabernacle surmounted by a very beautiful Madonna and Child from medieval times.

Azet welcomes on its territory the Pyrenean House of Pastoralism dedicated to the pastoral activity of the municipality. This tourist reception center promotes the mountains, in particular thanks to a museum retracing the history of pastoralism in France but also in the world.

While strolling in the village, you will be able to also discover the old wash-house or to take the various marked hiking trails allowing to appreciate the fauna and the flora of the Pyrenees.
