Currently closed due to restructuring and restoration of the collections, the Bonaparte museum in Auxonne benefits from the Musée de France label. Founded in 1863, in the city where Napoleon Bonaparte trained as an artilleryman, the Bonaparte Museum was originally a small museum dedicated to painting. It took its current name at the end of the 1940s.
In 1955, the Bonaparte museum of like busts of Napoleon I, military figurines or table services of Napoleon III.
Installed in the Notre-Dame du Château Tower in 1970, it retraces throughout its spaces the military history of the city, local history, as well as the history of Napoleon I and Napoleon III.
