The natural history museum Jacques La Fills in Autun, brings together over 800 000 samples representing specimens from all areas of natural science.
It has the world's largest collection of fossil nodules continental Carboniferous (160 000 pieces).
The natural history museum has its origins in the early nineteenth century. The collections then formed by the Natural History Society and currently property of the City of Autun, are of exceptional quality.
Temporary exhibitions are annually during a special illumination of a theme present in the permanent collections.
