The lighthouse of Ault, also called Onival lighthouse, is located on the heights of the cliff of Onival, on the territory of the town of Ault, in the Somme, 10 km north-east of Tréport.
It was built in 1951, and its architecture is shaped like a conical trunk of reinforced concrete whose top (which houses the gallery and the lantern) is instead elaborated in red bricks.
It replaced a signaling station dating from 1885 that was dynamited in June 1940.
Automated since 2001, the lighthouse of Ault is 28 m high and overlooks the sea level of a little more than 100 m. Its range is 17 nautical miles, or 31 km. Designed to secure navigation on part of the Bay of Somme, the lighthouse can not be visited. It can however be the object of a hike on the littoral, and since the site, a pretty sight on the coast and the cliffs "reward" the walkers.
