Small town of character located between plain and Gâtine, in the heart of the department of Deux-Sèvres, in New Aquitaine, Augé takes place at about thirty kilometers from Niort, not far from Nanteuil.

Things to see and do

Listed as a historic monument, Saint Gregory's church dates from the 11th century. His heart was rebuilt in the course of the thirteenth century in an interesting Gothic Angevin style.

While strolling in the town, you will also be able to discover the chapel of the Priory Saint-Hilaire possibly dating from the eleventh century, wash-houses and fountains, the castle of Houmelière, or the castle of Champmargou.

Do not miss to admire the center of this very picturesque village with its typical architecture of this part of Deux-Sèvres which extends on a hillside.

Several hiking and mountain bike trails allow you to enjoy the flora and fauna in and around the village.
