Auchonvillers was by turns :
Auconvillers : in 1186, delimitation of the county of Amiens.
Auconviler : title of the Bishop of Amiens in 1211.
Ochonviller : in 1710, the origin of the word is uncertain.
Auchonvillers can have two meanings : enlarged town or farm where we raised geese.
The village was completely destroyed during the First World War. Auchonvillers is part of the memory of the circuit.
The church can honor a superb 3rd monstrance offered by Napoleon during his visit to Auchonvillers where he was hosted during his escape from the fortress of Ham.
The monument to the dead was sculpted by Charles Gern. Rhine sculptor, born in Germany Kaisershautern, student of Fine Arts in Munich, he lived some time in Albert. It appears at the Salon in 1925. He was responsible beautiful monuments : Albert, Auchonvillers, Beaumont Hamel.

Customs and Traditions : During the last three days of Holy Week, the children announced the offices by making use of écalettes ( rattles ). We put the candle auction of the Blessed Virgin. When a young man not living in the village came to see a girl, the boys of Auchonvillers solicited him for he pays " mortars markets ", " beus markets ", that is to say that he pay what to drink a few bottles of wine!
