A 12th century building located in the town of Arbois, in the Jura, Château Pécauld has housed the Jura vine and wine museum since 1993. Listed as an historic monument, it was once part of the fortifications of Arbois.
Presbytery then boys' school in the 19th century, the building was subsequently restored in order to present the history of wine in the region to the public. On the program, there are collections of agricultural machinery, crushers, presses, barrels and even wine cappers that retrace the work of winegrowers.
Outside, visitors will be able to discover a garden with a vine-exhibition where different Jura grape varieties are revealed. Guided tours are offered to learn more about this economy that is the glory of the region.
