Charming little town of Ain, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Arbent takes place about sixty kilometers from Bourg-en-Bresse, in the heart of the Jura massif. Located at the gateway to the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, in the suburb of Oyonnax, it stretches not far from Groissiat, Bellignat and Choux.
The one which takes its name from the color of the ground, whitish, was once the property of the Counts of Burgundy before joining the kingdom of France. Long focused on forestry and agricultural activities, the municipality of Arbent has been a flagship of the plastics industry since the 1950s.
But it is above all for its architectural heritage of interest that this town, awarded two flowers in the Competition of towns and villages in bloom in France, attracts visitors passing through the region.
