The village is situated in the Upper Cevennes ardéchoise North, perched on a basalt classified "village character". Located at the confluence of three rivers that: the Volane, the Bise and Masélande.

Hilltop village, Antraigues wins, after many turns along the Volane from Vals-les-Bains. The countryside can discover the basalt columns, witnesses to the past volcanic activity.

The central host in turn artists, festivals and fairs, bowlers, and sidewalk cafes give air to the southern corner of the Cévennes Ardéchoise ...

Home to Jean Ferrat, the town still hosts many artists.

The view extends to infinity on the sides of the valleys of oak, beech and chestnut trees, some so old they have known the patron St. Roch's village (born about 1350 in Montpellier), revered by pilgrims on 16 August in a chapel in the woods north of the village.
