A remarkable site located at Antibes, in the Alpes-Maritimes, the garden of the Villa Thuret was created in the middle of the 19th century, at the same time as the scientific laboratory on which it depends. This botanical garden - arboretum for the introduction and acclimatization of exotic plant species is the work of Gustave Thuret, a French botanist and algologist.
Considered by George Sand as one of the most beautiful gardens in existence, this site is now accessible to the public, revealing its natural wonders in summer and winter. On the program of this place of nearly four hectares, 2,500 trees and shrubs representing more than 1,000 different species and coming from 380 regions of the world. Most have the title of exceptional trees and the oldest are labeled Remarkable Tree.
