Port Vauban of Antibes, east of the city, which have leads in the Nice seafront road from, is named Fort Carré which dominates a monitoring stronghold of the sixteenth century with revamped Vauban.
If the current configuration of the port dates from the 1970s, the site was already known in ancient times as a stopover for ships Phoenicians.
Considered one of the most important of the Mediterranean, Port Vauban is mainly dedicated to pleasure and it is spread over 25 hectares of water. It lists a total of 4200 berthing is 1,650 seats.
Besides last few fishing boats, the specificity is able to accommodate both small long recreational craft of a few meters that imposing yachts from 70 to 165 m long on the Camille Rayon dock (also called "dock of the billionaires").
Note that in good weather, anchoring is permitted under the ramparts of the old city and for visitors, squares in the same port are occasionally available.
Popular with boaters and tourists foreigners, Port Vauban which is accessed from the town center and its shops has all the necessary equipment and services (freshwater, electricity terminals, petrol station, toilets, WiFi, bikes electric). A technical area is implanted.
The site is proving conducive to even walk for non-boaters because of the beauty of some ships and the picturesque landscape of the harbor and the old districts of the city which adjoin.
