Castle of La Roche

Monument in Annesse-et-Beaulieu

A neo-classical building rebuilt in the 19th century by a relative of the Tsar of Russia, Count Luboff de Koucheleff-Bedbiroko, the Château de La Roche takes place in the town of Annesse-et-Beaulieu, in the Dordogne.

A private dwelling not accessible to the public, it reveals a main dwelling flanked by two round towers supporting two other perpendicular dwellings. Hospice for elderly Jewish refugees during the Second World War, the Château de La Roche also housed an annex of the Pasteur Institute.
