Castle of Annéot

Monument in Annéot

Listed as a Historic Monument, the castle of Annéot was erected in the 18th century by Charles-François Champion, then lord of Annéot. A curious architectural ensemble not accessible to visitors, the castle of Annéot has a long gate cut by freestone pilasters surmounted by sculpted vases. The central pavilion reveals the crest of the Champions, its first owners. It was originally surrounded by beautiful formal gardens rich in stone statues and rock grottoes.
