The Chiberta Golf is located in the commune of Anglet in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques, near Bayonne and Biarritz.
Located between the pine forest and beaches, the course was designed in 1927 on an area of 150 hectares bought by a company wishing build a golf there. The architect Tom Simpson who designed the plans, responding to the wishes of the Duke of Windsor, who liked to stay on the Basque coast and had great golf enthusiast.
In 1928, the championships of France professionals are made step while the clubhouse was getting a run instead of the elite.
Experts estimate that the golf Chiberta is technical (mixture of "links and in-land" varied) and very nice aesthetically, since along the sea.
In 2002, a 9-hole course was inaugurated, dedicated entirely to both beginners who want to improve and experienced players wishing to perfect their technique.
More recently, a coastal walk has been arranged, which prevents fairways located oceanfront being invaded by sand in winter. However, basements sandy Chiberta Golf can play all year round thanks to their permeability.
Dedicated to training practices complement the infrastructure, and of course clubhouse.
