The former Excelsior hotel, in Aix-les-Bains, in Savoy, was built in 1906. It was then, initially, the annex of the nearby Splendide hotel, built in 1884.
Intended to accommodate curists or tourists in a luxury setting, the building was sold in 1957 and apartments were subsequently fitted out. It is now called "Résidence Beauregard".
Designed by the Geneva architect Alfred Olivet for the hotelier Antoine Rossignoli, the former Excelsior hotel has retained some of its period decorations, in particular that of its lobby, as well as Art Nouveau ironwork and stained glass windows..
Labeled "Heritage of the 20th century" and protected as a historical monument, the building near the thermal baths park can mark out a pleasant walk on the heights of the city, from where there are superb points of view. Information on +33 4 79 88 68 00.
