Small village of Herault, in the heart of Minervois Herault, Aigues-Vives takes place at the edge of the Gard department, not far from Mailhac, Sainte-Valière or Olonzac. It is located about thirty kilometers from Béziers and about twenty kilometers from Narbonne.
Former, the city of Aigues-Vives took the name of Aigues Vives Roy at the beginning of the thirteenth century, following the revolt of the Albigensians. Populated since the Middle Paleolithic, the territory has a relatively prosperous life over the centuries, despite some clashes during the wars of religion.
Mainly turned to tourism today, this town of Herault now reveals a beautiful old architecture, but also preserved landscapes and pleasant to go through the various hiking trails present on site.
