Traditional fishing and shore fishing are naturally Agon-Coutainville their favorite spot.

Bay of Siena, a vast expanse of grasslands and heaths where freshwater rubs salt water, we pass the picturesque village of Agon, with its historic heart of the 16th century church. Finally at the Pointe d'Agon, protected natural site that opens widely on the sea, where ships are stranded.

The story of Bains de Mer Agon-Coutainville: in 1842, the port activity of Agon is booming and the Municipality request the creation of a market, the workforce Coutainville then hosts the "bathers" in praise of houses or rooms or taking in boarders. Before 1908, no developer would have had the idea to develop a resort on a remote area of dunes waterfront with a width of 200 meters up, making a point between the beach and the harbor where every high tide Sea goes back to old Coutainville. The "colonization" of the shore of Agon begins, the first tourists who walk across the harbor at low tide, to go to the beach. Then the town is selling an area of 621 hectares of agricultural parcels, "Charrières"; parties remaining unproductive (dunes waterfront) are used to dry the lichen. To access the sea, the agony must, as the first swimmers borrow "the breach of the sea now called the docking station. The fashion of sea bathing happens next logical Coutainville, as everywhere on our sea shores close to large cities since 1939, "Bathers" from Avranches are seen in Saint Jean le Thomas. Since the 1950s, it is well to the shore of Agon with the advent of Coutances. The tourists can stay in nearby villages as Blainville and Gouville and Old Coutainville which, in the early 19th century, a commercial, craft and agricultural active. Then there was the appearance of straw, something that was universal swimming. Indeed, the modesty of the time prevented Coutainville daring to engage in this "fun" activity. The name "Coutainville" is born and then designate the seaside town training. Therefore, we will witness the proliferation of these huts, which, over time, take the air of homes in their own right. Thus, these shacks made of wood and straw would be the trigger phenomenon in the history of the Wellness Center. People were able to don their swimwear safe from prying eyes. The Municipality is aware of the economic interest of the seaside will then decide to charge a fee to owners of these cabins bathroom. This will be the beginning of the resort expansion through the creation of the dam, villas and the putting forward of maritime heritage.
